MINOXIDIL / MEDICATION
Minoxidil spray (generic regaine) is a powerful spray, foam or solution that works to reverse hair loss in men by increasing blood flow, that in turn stimulates the hair follicles. Minoxidil spray is designed specifically to tackle male pattern baldness, it combats the effects of too much DHT – a hormone to which hair follicles are particularly sensitive and can cause the follicles around the hairline and crown to weaken, shrink, or stop producing hair altogether.

Applied to the scalp directly, usually twice a day (dependent on strength), Minoxidil revitalises and stimulates hair from its resting to growth phase. It widens the blood vessels in your scalp to encourage more nutrients and oxygen to reach the area, working to ‘reset’ your follicles life cycle. This means that, over time, hair becomes thicker and fuller as the growth cycle becomes longer.
When it comes to using Minoxidil, continuous application is key to seeing results. Everyone is different, however, most men will see results in three to six months. Studies have shown that, when used twice a day, Minoxidil is effective in 9/10 cases. It is considered to be the most effective and proven treatment in the UK.

These days, the word Botox® gets thrown around a lot, but what actually is it?

What are anti-wrinkle injections?
When it comes to removing wrinkles, there is often some confusion over the terms involved but in reality there is no difference between Botox® and other anti-wrinkle injections.
At The Medika Clinic, our high-end anti-wrinkle injections use botulinum toxin to treat and reduce dynamic lines on the upper face, such as crow’s feet and frown lines.

How do anti-wrinkle injections work?
How do anti-wrinkle injections work?
Anti-wrinkle injections work by relaxing the muscles to prevent deep wrinkles from forming.
As part of the procedure, botulinum toxin is injected directly into the desired facial muscles to interrupt signals sent by the brain that tell the muscle to contract. By stopping this communication between the nerve and muscle, wrinkles are prevented from appearing when you smile, laugh or raise your eyebrows.
